About Amager Engineering

Active since 1 January 2017 – with experience that goes much further back

Amager Engineering ApS is based in Kastrup on Amager and works with machine builders and the process industry in Denmark and abroad. One person, a network of close partners – and a clear ambition: automation that works, and documentation that lasts.

Installation engineer with both hands on the machine

I am an installation engineer with 12 years' experience as product specialist in electrical and automation for the process industry – and before that 5 years as a service electrician for housing and industrial work. I have wide experience with several PLC and HMI brands.

I am involved from A to Z in the making of a machine: from the early stages when the machine's specifications are discussed and I present my ideas for the best functionality, over the development of the automation part, to the commissioning of the machine.

Troubleshooting on site has been one of the most important ways to learn what a machine needs – and to listen to the people who operate it every day.

Documentation as a craft

Three documents that make the difference

A large part of my earlier work was documentation. Three types in particular decide whether a project runs smoothly – for the panel builder, for the operator and for whoever takes over later.

01

Block diagram

Gives a good overview of the equipment's different inputs and outputs – the map of the whole installation on one page.

02

Wiring diagrams and part list

The wiring diagrams combined with a detailed assembly list, so the panel builder can purchase exactly the right parts.

03

Operator manual

Explains to the end user how the machine is operated, how alarms are read and how signals are trended.

Partners

A small company with a strong network

Amager Engineering has very good and close partners: a proficient technical drawing manufacturer, an experienced programmer and an electrical panel manufacturer in North Zealand. That is how a small company can deliver the whole solution – from drawing to finished panel – without you having to coordinate several suppliers.

  • Technical drawings – documentation that is ready for production
  • Programming – extra capacity on larger projects
  • Panel building in Denmark (North Zealand)
Courses and certifications

Continuously trained – from Step 7 to TIA Portal Safety

PLC platforms move fast. This is the training behind the work – from the electrical licence in 2007 to the latest Siemens and Pro-face courses.
